Generally quite sturdy and after a bit polish the playing surface is pretty good and perfectly playable given the price point. Years ago I played this on a very expensive set and this isn't too far away from that experience. The carrom men are a little rough around the edges but not too bad. The striker seems fine. The board edges did have some damage (see photos) but nothing too serious. The box was damaged a little on delivery so I'm guessing these scratches occurred during transit. Playability is unaffected by these as the main playing area is absolutely fine. The addition of a small bottle of powder is a nice touch (you'll need more soon though!) and the cases for the men and striker are handy. No complaints really, ever so slightly overpriced perhaps but what isn't these days. Generally quite happy with this board. You will get surface powder to even make it more smoother but o recommend applying the powder to maintain that glide till the end of the game **Q: recent buyers please confirm whether the product is worth buying and also recent purchase photo of the playing surface and support struts underneath** A: Great game so many hours of fun **Q: Is the base solid or slats?** A: the playing surface, made from plywood, is supported beneath by a gridwork of slats, and of course, the surrounding 1 inch by 1.5 inch frame. We rest the carrom board on a metal frame (an old packing case), and the surface is true. **Q: Isn't 4mm width of plywood too thin?
