Took me seconds to set it up. As others have mentioned, you just need to enter "bthomehub@btbroadband.com" as username and any old passsword (I used "BT"). 10 times better than the Homehub in my opinion. **Q: Can i connected without any other modem or router available? Basically i want to purchase this device just for 1 room, will that work?** A: This unit is a combined modem and router and you do not need anything else. All you do is plug it into your broadband socket on the wall which is usually where your telephone line is too. I recommend that you always plug into a socket as close to where your line comes into your property from the outside and that way you avoid any interference from your own wiring and any other devices that might degrade the data stream. You will need to configure it for your particular broadband supplier so do not expect to just plug it in and see it work but that is true of any "box" like this. The ones that come from a broadband supplier that you are using will be pre-configured before they are sent to you so that they can be just plugged in but these need a once only setup. Instructions are provided. They are very good once done though and mine has been very reliable with good coverage. **Q: Does the AC1600 work with sky fibre?** A: Ye s you can use it with Sky Fibre. Setting It Up Setting up the TP-Link router with Sky fibre is extremely simple. Whilst it’s not quite plug and play, the process is very simple: Plug in your TP-Link to a power supply and connect the DSL (Internet) cable to the back. Connect the network cable to port 1 on the router, then connect the other end to your laptop. Open a browser window and navigate to http://192.168.1.1. The TP-Link will ask you to set an admin password – make sure you use something secure, as Password123 ain’t gonna cut it! Once in, the TP-Link setup wizard will start: Input your location and time zone. Click Next. Select Sky(MER)_VDSL from the ISP list. Make sure it’s this one, as this is Sky fibre. The other Sky option in the list is for Sky Broadband and will not work for fibre connections. In the username field, enter abcdefgh@skydsl In the password field, enter 1234567890abcdef Click Next, then set up your wireless settings how you want them setting. Personally, I disabled 2.4GHz and used only 5GHz to help the signal. Click Next. The TP-Link will then test the Internet connection and you should see a success message. If you do not, wait for the DSL light to stop flashing and try again – it should work just fine. That’s it! You’re now connected to Sky fibre via your new TP-Link router.
