The blade that is "listed" as a fine point blade is not actually one. It is the OLD replacement blade. Please do not listen to the other replies. I work for Cricut. The regular (not deep blade) on this page is NOT for newer machines. They are for the older machines. You can use them but they will cut too deep. If you cut vinyl it will cut into the backing. Please use the german carbide blades (or the real fine point blade). The deep cut blade and housing on this page is ONLY for the Explore and Maker machines. **Q: Can this be used for the cricut maker?** A: Yes, this works with the Cricut maker. **Q: Do i have to have the housing? i have an explore air...can i just change the blade out in the housing that came with the machine?** A: Each blade size/type has it's own size housing.Therefore, if the blade housing currently in your machine is for a fine-point blade, then you do not need to change the housing.
