While it stopped working after about a year, it continued to provide a nice space for 3 cards for me in that older version. This new version is improved, feeling almost velvet soft and the interior so far can only hold two cards. What is cool/new is that the Note 8 now has a specific menu for customizing the LEDs on this cover....so you can choose present symbols to show when certain contacts call you or you can create your own LED design using the 50 x 30 LED grid guide inside the menu of the phone. I also like that this version mount using a turtle shell tray style, instead of the old version where you removed the rear cover and affixed it to teh back of the phone.
