The low profile rulers allow closer surface contact yet are substantial enough not to bend or warp as the plastic versions of this tool eventually do. All of the parts in this version are metal (no plastic parts). Comes with illustrated instructions for use in various applications (duplicating angles, shapes, marking circles, and templating for repetitive operations) with a free carpenter's marking pencil and storage bag. While this version of the tool costs nominally more than the yellow plastic or black metallic versions, the quality is definitely worth the difference in price.
