Just need to take off of the mount, no need to do any other steps to mount the monitor. The unit is on the pricey side, but I did buy 2 more. Review: This this is SICK! I know a few people have complained about this being loose, but I would imagine those are faulty units as I have this, and another base so I can swap my monitor back and forth easier, and both are incredibly solid. Clicks in clearly, and you have to use the trigger to click something IN & OUT. So not quite your typical drop in. My one issue is the built Arri safety pins (the two small pins to prevent spinning) a bit too long to be universal.
