Love it. I am using another lid for the pan while cooking. **Q: Is it a West Bend product?** A: It's a silver line product. the previous one I had was a West Bend and bought this to replace it (I had it for years) and it seems exactly the same. **Q: can you preheat on the flame with this model** A: I believe you can although I have never tried that. You should be able to brown first then cook! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best small multifunction kitchen appliance *by N***N on July 12, 2015* I have been looking for a replacement for my Rival slow cooker that got broken 15 years ago. This is the same design and works as well. I have used it to make Ham & Bean soup, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Pot Roast, French Toast, etc. The griddle is easy to clean with just a wet rag or paper towel and the pot and lid are dishwasher friendly. I have a casserole carrier that fits around this just fine. It is easy to move from the house to the camp trailer.I would recommend this product to everyone looking for small multifunctional kitchen appliances. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really nice unit *by B***G on December 17, 2017* This is one really nice unit. I like the fact that it has 6 heat levels instead of the normal 3 and the pot comes off so it can be cleaned easily. I cooked up some Chili the other day and it came out great. After cooking I set it on low and it kept the food warm without burning. The only thing is I wish it had rubber on the lid handles so you could pick it up without gloves but that's a minor problem. As long as it holds up it will be a good buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ LOVE IT SO FAR. *by S***2 on February 5, 2017* I like the fact that it is Teflon coated. I only rated it 4-Stars. Will check back in 6 months or so to see if the coating lasts, (if it does, I will change from a 4-star to a 5) but suffice to say I had an old Slow Cooker (round) and I never liked whatever I cooked in it tasted.I cooked baby back ribs in this.
