It protects them as well as offers a better grip when carrying them in one hand.This EooCoo had a perfect fit, nice and snug to the body shape of my new Air M5 and the dimpled/textured surface on the outside is in fact offered the best “No-Slip” grip of any of the previous 6-8 shell cases I owned in the past.Both top and bottom shells snap on just over the edge of the aluminum body and hold in place, yet, for cleaning the inside occasionally, I found this shell easy to snap off in seconds as needed. I’ve had some shells in the past that were a real fight to remove.
