The shades come with 3 white adhesive tabs that attach to the trim of your can light. Each shade has 3 magnets with adjustable positions to attach to the tabs. This makes it easy to attach and remove the shades as needed.I had trouble with some of the tabs coming detached. EZClipse determined the problem was the 100 watt halogen bulbs I was using creating a little more heat than the adhesive tabs can handle. They recommend 75 watt maximum incandescent / halogen or LED bulbs. I believe the tabs will work fine and stay put following that advice -- the adhesive is strong and most of the tabs held tight even with the 100 watt bulbs.Kory at EZClipse answered several emails and was great to work with, so I would not hesitate to buy. It's darker than I thought it would be, and since I couldn't use the strips, there's no glow on the top portion.
