High side switches fail when the condenser fan motor goes out and your unit cycles due to the high pressure that bad fan causes. You can do this yourself: I used this with a tee on the high side with some refrigerant-friendly thread lock. All you do is screw this switch onto the new tee and then onto the high-side port. Move the two wires off the old switch onto this new switch, and make sure you have that fan replaced by a professional! A new fan on Amazon is usually $170. Have it installed and you just saved almost $2000.
