Old batteries left inside and tried to replace with new batteries yet wouldn’t power on because of old battery leakage and contamination of battery acid left inside the unit. What is odd is that there was the round sticky tab sealing the box shut which looked like original from the factory and there was only one on each end so it wasn’t like it was even returned and re taped, but maybe it was returned because why would it arrive with old expired leaking batteries? It doesn’t say that it even comes with batteries. It requires a screwdriver just to open the battery case.
