Polymeric sand will set once that water has fully evaporated from the sand. Note that polymeric sand will appear flexible when wet and may feel spongey but will remain set in your paver joints. **Q: After I watered in the sand my pavers now have a haze to them. What did I do wrong?** A: The surface must be completely dry at the beginning of the application process. Any moisture will cause the polymers to stick and prematurely activate leaving a white residue on the surface. Wait 14 days after application to clean your pavers. **Q: I am replacing my existing joint stabilizer that is 2" deep. Do I have to remove all the old sand and start fresh?** A: We would recommend removing all the old sand and starting fresh. The old sand underneath could result in poor drainage, causing sand failure due to improper drainage conditions. You need to remove at least 1" for the new sand to perform as intended. **Q: I filled the joints until sand reached the top of my pavers. Now rain keeps washing out my sand. Why is this happening?** A: DOMINATOR should fill the joints up to 1/8" BELOW the surface of your paver to avoid washout. When sweeping the sand into the paver joints, you should be able to freely sweep across the surface of your pavers without disturbing the sand. **Q: I chose a color but when I received it, it wasn’t the same color as the images. Why is this?** A: Screen colors may vary. Choose a small size to confirm the color is desired for the entire project. I wish I'd purchased charcoal gray. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fills cracks better, keeps weeds/ants out, and prevents shifting *by X***A on August 14, 2025* I hate when weeds grow through the openings between pavers on my walkway, and I hate even more when ants build tall mounds that seem to appear overnight. That’s why I decided to try this product—and I’m glad I did. Yes, it was about twice as expensive as what I usually get from the big box store, but it’s much better quality and worth the extra cost. The grain is finer, and once watered in, it solidifies better than the cheaper brands. This makes a big difference because if the sand between your pavers gets washed out, the stones will eventually start shifting—especially if your walkway is on a hill. Some extra details that may help others: The color match is excellent for light grey pavers. One bag covered my pathway (3 feet wide by 30 feet long). There is some dust when pouring, but no more than normal. Follow the directions carefully for best results. Since this comes in just a bag, you cannot store leftovers—moisture from the air will ruin it (speaking from experience). Only buy what you need. I usually refill the cracks every 5 years to keep things neat and stable. Overall, this product does a better job of keeping weeds and ants out, looks nicer, and keeps my walkway solid.
