Review: Space for plugs of all sizes without covering other plugs - I've always had problems with power strips that had their plugs spaced too close together. Inevitably I'd always find myself having to carefully arrange the larger wall warts at the end of the strips so that their long back ends didn't cover other plugs. This one is great because it can hold multiple large wall-wart style plugs without blocking outlets and making them useless. I like this design so much that this is my second one. I use one behind my living room entertainment console for my TV, cable box, sound system, etc. and this new one is for my office where I have computers, lights, computer monitors, a TV, and some musical equipment plugged into it. The form factor is really nice too. Yes, it's a bit wide and deep but no larger than it needs to be and the sleek design ensures that it isn't an eyesore even if you can't hide it under something. I don't use the cord management piece and think it's useless because of the orientation of all my plugs so I removed it which is easy. I've also never used one of these things to hook up a cable cord but apparently you can do that as well. The fact that it's gray and the material it's made of make sure it won't show the dust that'll eventually cover it. The color also ensures that you won't pull it out after a few years and find that it has yellowed like just about every power strip or surge protector I've ever had. This is worth the extra money compared to a run-of-the-mill white power strip you can get just about anywhere. The one problem I have with it is that the cord that connects it to your wall outlet is tilted at a 45 degree angle. What that means is that the cord won't lay completely flat against the wall unless you plug it into an outlet that is to the left of where you place the surge protector. It's not the biggest deal and after a few weeks I see that the cord is settling into place nicely and isn't an eyesore but if I had to find anything to criticize about this item, the odd angle of plug would be the one single thing. Another thing I just noticed is that you can close the positive and negative terminals. I forgot about that when I got my first one. As a father of a one year old, this is a great feature. No need for plug protectors in your power outlet because they already have it built in. There's no covering for the ground terminal but that's not the dangerous hole anyway. Overall I'd highly recommend this. I don't get excited about power strips at all but this thing impressed me.
Review: Perfect for Home Offices and High End Entertainment Systems - This is an awesome surge protector! In fact, I liked it so much that I bought another one shortly after this one came! With a nearly 4000 joule rating, this surge protector is rated for home theatre and small office use. It has both coaxial and phone jacks to fully protect your system or office set up. It has 12 outlets that are spaced well and configured to allow numerous types of plugs plenty of room while still maintaining a reasonable footprint. The cord wraps make is easy to keep the snarling tangle well organized and under control. I use one for my home office setup and one for entertainment/gaming setup, and I'm extremely happy with it's performance! I also feel secure knowing my expensive electronics are well protected. Belkin makes excellent products and really stands by them. The power strip comes with a lifetime warranty and $300,000 in connected equipment insurance in case of critical failure on the surge protector. I vacillated between this one and the newer model. But the only 2 real differences are the pivoting heads and a joule rating that's about 300 higher. Neither were essential to me and this model is $10 cheaper. So it's more budget friendly! This is an excellent surge protector that would serve anyone well in either a home office or a high end entertainment system! ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you mount it on a wall?**
A: I chose not to use screw mounting and use the large command strips (4 strip points) on the back so I do not wall damage. They hold 16lbs which is enough for the protector and the force of the cords that weigh on it.

**Q: What is the dimension of the base? the width in the specs doesn't look right.**
A: Length=13in. Width= 4.125in. Depth=1.375in.

**Q: Do you recommend this model? Or the new one? Belkin 12 Outlet Surge Protector With Telephone & Coax Protection**
A: If you need the phone and coax protection, I would recommend the new one. However, I did not require those features when I purchased this model. I suggest you buy the product that provides the features you will use. The one I bought is adequate for my needs and I am very pleased with it.

**Q: Does this unit have a on-off switch?**
A: Yes it does. On the end of the unit near the power cable there is a rocker switch that will turn the strip on and off.
