**Q: Which printers can still print B&W even with low color cartridges?**
A: The WF-3540 will not allow me to print with black ink if the color cartridges are low.  The color cartridges must be replace first.  This is awful.

A: STRETCH INK TO PAGE!!  LEAVE WF-3540 ON!! SAY TOP LAB REVIEWERS.  ALLOW SLEEP MODE!!  Machine wets/cleans jet w/ low ink usage periodically.  RECYCLING THROUGH ON/OFF CYCLES FORCES FULL CLEAN/HIGH INK DUMP TO "SPITOON" UNNECESSARILY!! AND DELAYS FIRST PRINT!.PROS SAY: USE FREQUENTLY (even just one print with graphic+print color page to condition jet once or more weekly--ESPECIALLY IN HOT/DRY/LOW HUMIDITY ROOM!!!  Dry rooms kill jets & waste ink (ink costs 5X as much as Chanel #5 perfume!!).  Use humidifyer in super dry rooms, or try loose vinyl cover with room for glass of distilled water evaporating beneath, :)  See custom size covers on Amazon.  Dry kills jets!! CYCLING THRU ON/OFF FORCES FULL CLEAN/HIGH INK "SPITOON" DUMP, DELAYS 1ST PRINT, WASTES INK UNNECESSARILY!!  KEEP CLOSE TO OR FULLY IN DRAFT!  Huge ink savings with little or no gain in guality.  USE FREQUENTLY---EVEN SINGLE COLOR+PRINT TO REFRESH JETS--ESPECIALLY OR MORE OFTEN IN OVER HEATED/LOW HUMIDITY ROOMS!!  Dry rooms clog/wreck jets & waste ink in cleanings. (Cover w/ loose fitting vinyl cover w/ glass of clean/distilled water evaporating beneath IN DRY/LOW HUMIDITY  ROOMS!!  Save BIG $ ON INK--esp. if poor-- on HIGHLY REVIEWED/RATED remanufactured catriidges.
