I bought the white color to paint them. The paint seemed to stick somewhat well, but chipped off if you handled them too much. Although they appeared to be the same size as the previous ones that were used in our shutters, they were a little wider. We had to apply some pressure to get them in, and with some pressure the first one bent and became unusable. The second one we tried, the top snapped off. I am disappointed with this product to say the least.
