I was hesitant to order this due to the negative reviews about getting old beans, but I’ve ordered multiple times now and the roast date is always after I place my order. I love that this is fresher than what I can find in stores.I’ve been buying black cat for years and was excited to see organic available here at a similar price. I don’t get as much crema with these beans as non organic, but that could be a matter of getting used to a different grind consistency.You may want to scroll down the page to see if they have any promos. At the time of this review you could save a percentage and get free shipping by ordering 3 or 4 bags at once.Based on the other reviews, I would only feel comfortable buying this from Intelligentsia. You may need to look for “other sellers” since they change the default seller from time to time.

This brand of coffee is excellent. Rich, smooth, bold flavor. Very high quality coffee. Highly recommend this one

Excellent. Roast date was slightly less than two weeks ago. Perfect timing for espresso.

While this has a nice flavor, I can't call it "Espresso" based on my preferences. Perhaps it's the nature of an Organic process, or some other factors based on how it's roasted, but it's simply not "powerful" enough for me - at least when brewing through my Espresso machine. I'm going to try it in a standard drip coffeemaker to see if I like it better as a "regular" brew.

I’ve ordered this a few times from Amazon and a few times from roaster directly.... each time the roast date has been no more than 2 days before I receive it. Fresh. Makes a good cup if dripped or shot with proper espresso machine and proper grind.

if you like starbucks dark roast, this will taste too mild. Intelligentsia roasts their beans medium, which i love. everything is roasted fresh before shipping so you wont get stale coffee.
