She had some experience getting up on my 8'board and was ready for her own. We rented a few different foam boards last summer, and were disappointed in many of them. After doing a lot of research online, we decided to give the liquid shredder a try. At 52" tall, and 72 lbs, this 6' board is just right. She can carry it on her own (over her head - her arms are too short to carry by her side), and has no trouble maneuvering it in the water. The board is very stable, with the float you would expect from a foam board. The fins are flexible, which is a good feature for kids who tend to ride right up onto the beach. We haven't had it long enough to comment on it's long term durability, but this board is performing wonderfully, and seems like it's going to last compared to others we've tried. It retails for much more on the manufacturer's site, making this a great deal. Be prepared to purchase a leash, which will cost an additional $25.00 or so. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good beginner board *by L***L on July 28, 2013* Good board for beginners. Our daughter is 9 and weighs about 50lbs. Perfect for her. BUT....I will say that the shipping of the board wasn't good. It arrived with the box torn all to bits, wrapped in thin bubble wrap (not the big bubbles, the tiny ones) and the tip of the board was bent. We never heard back from Amazon or the shipping company (Fed-X) to get resolution. We finally just decided to use the board and hope it will last for a summer or two. This is the exact board my daughter used in surf camp earlier in the summer. We'll see how it holds up----especially with the bend in to top. ### ⭐⭐ Wouldn’t buy again *by A***R on June 30, 2021* Definitely did not float above the water when my cousin stood on it!
