The holes did not match. Also the thickness of the door has to be checked against the lock thickness , ours was a little more and had to be filed down. The key being on one side forces it to fit doors with lock on the right if you want the key side to be outside. We had to open the lock assembly and reverse the latch. So there were issues which could have been resolved if details were mentioned correctly.
