For electric, acoustic & bass guitars.: Combo Amps - desertcart.com βœ“ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases Review: So Far, So Amazing - UPDATE (May 28, 2021): Finally got my Galaxy Tab A7 and had no problem pairing it with the Spark 40 (see photo). The amp itself sounds fine for practice, though it would never be loud enough to gig with (you're probably not considering using it for gigging anyway). The built-in preset models are a lot of fun to play with, and reasonably authentic. Dedicated tweakers will no doubt be able to get even more out of the models by fiddling with the pedal settings. I can't imagine anyone not being able to dial in the sound(s) they want for practicing. I have only played around a little with the backing tracks feature, but in my opinion it justifies the purchase all by itself. Nothing helps make practice less tedious than actually *making music,* and the backing tracks facilitate that nicely. There is still much left to explore, especially the feature where the Spark 40 will provide you the chords for songs you give it to analyze, and its ability to slow songs down to help you master them. I will say that under certain conditions there is an awful hum produced by the Spark 40. I plan to upgrade the power supply, but in the meantime I was able to tame the hum by switching cables (went from a coiled Vox to a regular DiMarzio). I will update this again if the hum problem returns. * * * * * * * * * * I got a pleasant surprise today when my Spark 40 arrived ahead of schedule! desertcart said to expect it on May 20-25, but it's May 19 and the amp is safely here. I will supplement this review after I have had more time to play with the device, but my initial reactions are that it is a handsome and solidly-built product. The ergonomics are excellent, and the knobs turn easily and smoothly. The sounds I've gotten out of it so far are fine for a practice amp, and I look forward to digging deeper into its capabilities. I'm planning on using it in combination with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 tablet. The Positive Grid app works on my phone but it isn't a large enough display to be useful to me. The tablet should be here in a day or so, and once I have got things set up properly I will post an updated version of this review. You can adjust effects using the control knobs on the amp, or take a deep dive into all of these features and edit your tones in the Spark app that comes free with the Spark amp. **Q: Have you replaced the grounding issues with the power supply not being grounded? I read it causes hum issues** A: Hum issues can come from many places and 3 prong plug doesn't always get it. Did you try a ground lift? The electrical circuitry in your house (or whatever structure you're in) can cause hum. Florescent lights, f'rinstance. Do you have single coil pickups? find out. That's why Gibson made the "Humbucker". So many issues that wont be resolved with 3 prong plug. I'm looking for a battery powered amp like this. If it was batt powered (self contained) I would buy one and hum wouldn't be an issue (except for maybe single coils under flourescent lamps). Also, your amp may hum if don't know the lyrics. **Q: Is it for bass guitar?** A: Spark is an amp for bass, electric and acoustic guitar. There are 10,000+ tones and auto chords. **Q: Are the presets built in or do you have to buy them?** A: Yes, there are factory presets built into the amp itself, plus lots more you can load in from the accompanying free Spark app. You also can find thousands more presets and tones free of charge when you log into Spark ToneCloud. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So Far, So Amazing *by C***5 on May 20, 2021* UPDATE (May 28, 2021): Finally got my Galaxy Tab A7 and had no problem pairing it with the Spark 40 (see photo). BUT IT'S TRUE. *by M***S on October 11, 2026* Holy Cow! This is a great time to be a musician! I want to regail you with all of the supernatural features of this amazing machine. But, the list of pros is JUST... TOO... LONG. And the cons,.. well... I have not discovered any. The rumors you may have heard,.. well they're all true. For instance. Yes it WILL really compose and perform drums and bass lines to what your playing. In real time. It responds to your changes. It learns your structure. And it learns your style. It gets better as you play with it. You also may never have to buy another effects pedal for AS LONG AS YOU LIVE. I play pretty wet. Racks, Digitech floor rigs, loopers, drum machines... I can't remember the last time I used one cord. One end in my axe and the other jacked in. Right out of the box, I canceled my Cialis prescription. And it costs what??? How have you NOT already got one of these? ... What? You're still here?
