Review: Needs practice but when you've got it- it's so freeing- and easier on your knees than squatting - Definitely not posting photos of this one lol but suffice to say, it works fantastic! I've never been a "pink" type girl- and since I've been in the military as well, the green was the color for me. I got this not only because I'm a germophobe when it comes to public restrooms (particularly those nasty hot box porta-potties) but also due to knee and back problems I can no longer squat at campsites long enough or well enough to do my natural business. Ladies do be aware that you should practice with it so that pee doesn't run down your legs. I got it right the first time (beginners luck) but then on the second time, it happened...pee down the legs. It was a good thing I was practicing in my own bathroom so I could immediately sort it out. PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! or you will have "accidents". When you get it right, it is so FREEING to be able to pee standing up! The case was larger than I anticipated- this is just about the size of a small clutch purse so if you plan on carrying it around you'll need a medium/large purse if you plan on putting anything else in that purse....or you can just bling it and throw your keys into this case to pretend it's a clutch purse. I don't think it needed to be that size really. It's pretty large. I was expecting something more pocket sized. The Shewee itself is made of hard abs plastic and the clear tube is basically just clear rubber tubing you can get anywhere. I may get one of those smaller more soft rubber ones so I can get a quick pocket sized one and use this one mainly for camping/ off-roading.
Review: An Essential Piece Of Equipment - As a military female who spends a lot of time in the field and almost exclusively with men, the Shewee has made all the difference for me! I can now confidently hydrate to my heart's content and relieve myself whenever I need to. Now, I will say that it feels very unnatural at first. I recommend practicing at home at least several times (I learned this lesson the hard way!). Don't be discouraged if you have trouble initially- I was about ready to throw mine away after a slight....well....accident. Play with the angle and positioning. It helps to know your anatomy. Just know that this is not an intuitive product to use. Now that I have it figured out, I can't live without it. Even if you're not the outdoorsy type, the Shewee is awesome for nasty public restrooms and port-o-johns when you'd rather not touch anything. I do recommend having a little packet of antibacterial wet wipes handy for quick cleanup after you put it away in the carrying case. Even though the plastic does a good job repelling moisture, there will always be a little residual pee. Don't let that turn you off to this product. It really is easy to keep clean.

When I first saw this device, I was really skeptical. I was worried about how much practice I would need before -ahem- field-testing it. I am prone to impromptu road trips to beaches and such and there is nothing worse than having to try to squat behind a sand dune. I tried this out once or twice without clothes, and a couple times with clothes, home, and now I'm sure I could use it anywhere, with any outfit, without having any unfortunate accidents! I love that it has a carrying case, and the extension hose means that I can "aim", which will surely be helpful, if I want to write my name in the snow someday (or aim away from my feet). I cannot recommend this highly enough. It is foolproof, leakproof, and nearly eliminates the need for wiping, although I would carry tissues or something as a personal preference and shake out the funnel part before putting it in the case, of course.
