Review: Honda 1.6L Civic running cool again - This is the correct part for this vehicle, at least. 1996 Honda Civic 1.6L EX. I couldn't really find mention of how the electric fan was controlled in the workshop manual other than a thermal switch. In fact, it showed it in the wrong place on the engine. This is kind of behind the valve cover on the left side as you look into the engine bay. Anyway, I bought this car for a steal because it ran hot when you sat in traffic or a drive thru once it warmed up. The electric fan wasn't kicking on until about 210F, and even then it only ran for about 10 seconds. It should cycle on around 195F, and run until the temp falls to about 185F. This replacement unit fit perfectly, and fixed my issues when I got stuck in traffic. The engine is always inside operating temperature now. A little pricey but it's a quality part.
Review: Works good. - I misdiagnosed the switch and thought it was not working. Turns out it was working just fine. Very satisfied with my purchase.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Honda 1.6L Civic running cool again

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works good.

I misdiagnosed the switch and thought it was not working. Turns out it was working just fine. Very satisfied with my purchase.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fits 97 Honda Civic Hatchback CX
*by T***N on September 4, 2025*

This *almost* fits my 97 civic. It bolts on fine and is identical to the sensor I took out, however the connector doesn't lock into this new sensor. It's like 1mm away from going over that locking tab, and even with all my might, I cannot push it in any farther to lock. I cannot see what is causing this. Other than that, it works and turns on the fan at the correct coolant temperature. Time will tell if this lasts.
