The pictures and descriptions make it very helpful to learn the issues breastfeeding women can face, and how to help them manage the issues. The expression, "A picture is worth a thousand words" applies to how useful this resource is. Some are pictures we see often; others are less frequent occurrences but it is good to know that I have seen it before in, "The Atlas". I remember many times when I saw a situation in real life for the first time, I was confident in helping the mom because I had seen it before in this book. The text is very helpful, too, and many of the descriptions and recommendations have helped me tremendously in my practice. The reason why I have purchased three editions is because our field is always being updated with new information, and the new editions help keep me up to date, and prepare for not only for the next exam, but for the next mom who asks for my help. This book would be very useful for staff at OB or Pediatrics offices or clinics, or anywhere that helps women who are breastfeeding or wish to learn more about it.
