## Description

Principal:- Nutrient Broth (NB) is a simple medium composed of the Peptone, Meat extract (Equivalent to Beef Extract) which provide ample amount of the C, N, essential and non-essential amino acids, along with the vitamins and trace minerals. NB is a basic media and commonly used for cultivation, enrichment, enumeration, prolonged maintenance and storage of wide variety of microbes. The nutrient broth is widely used as non-selective microbial media for routine microbiology analysis. NB is prominently used for cultivation of the non-fastidious organisms. Fastidious organisms may or may not grow on Nutrient Broth. Nutrient broth is ideal microbial media for teaching, demonstration and routine analysis. Specimens types analyzed:- Water samples, Soil samples, Food and dairy samples, Pharmaceutical samples, clinical samples, etc.

- Use:- Recommended for the refinement of non-fastidious microorganisms from clinical and non-clinical samples. It can be enriched with biological fluids such as blood, serum etc. for better outcomes.
- Directions: Suspend nutrient broth 13 gram in 1000 ml distilled water adjust the pH if required. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 °C) for 15 min.
- Performance and Evaluation:- The expected performance of the medium is liable to use as per the direction on the label when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.
- Storage and Shelf Life:- Hygroscopic; keep container tightly closed. Store at temperatures not exceeding 30⁰C and dry place. Expected performance when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.
- Disposal:- To avoid the contamination or propagation of any hazardous microbes the used, unusable or modified preparation of this product must be disposed after autoclaving or incineration after completion of task.
