The instructions are very good with pictures to help you along the way. Although I have done this task many times it is not often enough to remember the correct way to tie a UL knot so it was great to have a handy pictorial guide. I don’t think you can go wrong with this one.

**Q: Does anyone know where I can get a 1/2" IPS to fix old lamp?**
A: I do not know why "IPS" and this socket is related to a lamp. If you have an industrial style lamp an adapter can be found at a plumbing outlet.

**Q: Is this 1/8 ip or 1/4 ip?**

**Q: is the knob removable?**
A: The knob is removable, but there is a stem that the knob screws onto which is not removable.

**Q: Can I use a 50, 200, 250 watt bulb in this fixture?**
A: Not sure. I use a 50, 100, 150 lightbulb in it.

Ok, it's a replacement socket. It's functional and fairly well made. It is a three way so be prepared with a three way bulb. Rather easy to assemble.
