Optically clear sound
I needed this in order to connect an older headphone system to a newer TV that didn't have an earphone jack. We have been using this for months along with an optical splitter with no issues. There have not been any audio dropouts and no issues with connectivity. This thing is also very solid with a metal case. My only warning is that it has a tiny red light in the back so be sure that you can tuck it away somewhere that will not reflect this or else it can be distracting in a dark room (having said this any device like this will have some sort of LED so no points docked for that)

Works great for old Sony TV. Highly recommended. Copy of English Manual
I have an old Sony KDL-52Z5100 tv purchased in 2015: it has no headphone jack. The tv has 2 Variable Audio Out RCA jacks (which I have used for stereo components), 2 Audio Out RCA without Variable Audio Out (not used) and an optical Digital Audio Out. It took only 5 minutes to connect the Prozor 3-foot Toslink Optical Cable to the Digital Audio Out port on the back of the tv and into the back of the Prozor PRR015 box and power the Prozor unit by plugging the USB cable into the back of my Comcast cable tv DVR USB jack. Without making any sound adjustments in the tv settings I immediately had clear audio from headphones with easy-to-adjust volume using the Prozar box while the audio from my Sony tv speakers was muted using the tv remote control.

Great for noise isolation
I needed a way to isolate noise from a battery backup for my PC that was bleeding through to my powered speakers. Using this with a USB-A to Toslink adapter worked perfectly. If my PC would have had optical out, I could have done without the USB to Toslink. Went USB-A to Toslink and then a Toslink optical cable to this DAC and fed the speakers from the 3.5mm audio out. Every other attempt to shield the signal failed until I tried this. I can drive it at 192khz 24 bit from my PC but run at 44.1khz 24 bit since that's the rate my lossless FLAC files are ripped at and I can't hear a difference.

Nice to have a volume control and has decent Frequency Response (Prozor 192kHz DAC)
As you can see, I measured a frequency response of about 45Hz to 20kHz (-3dB) and about 100Hz to 16kHz (-1dB).It does have a little bump up of about 1dB around 10kHz. Overall pretty good. If you like a lot of BASS, it would be good if they improved the low end some (going down to 15-20Hz).

Good Enought
It works, there is a hum in the background, it might be my TV. I can't hear it unless there is no volume. So I'd tell you to try one. I wish it had more amplification. But I have hearing loss. Again, you should try one. They are just loud enought. . . just.

TV/ amplifier connection.
Product works great! Took a while to figure out how it operates with my equipment, but now have great sound on my TV.
