Had trouble deciding what to do first! *by F***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2012* I checked this out at the library as I generally do with all my craftsy type books and I really liked it...enough to order my own copy! The one at the library was spiral bound and pages kept slipping out. The book I got here in Amazon was a standard paperback which I definitely prefer! The directions are great and it is a lot of fun to create some of my own cords for necklaces and such! I really like the step-by-step diagrams and how each item will reference you to the technique page you need. It covered not just simple braids but Kumihimo, weaving and the use of beads in many different aspects of the cords! Hardest part for me was that the given amount is only for 12 inches so I have to stop and do the math to ensure I make enough of a cord...but that's not such a huge thing really :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lots of variations to try--well written *by V***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2016* I am a medieval reenactor who does a lot of fiber craft. I have a friend who had this book and just had to have it for myself. There are a lot of different techniques in this book, from braiding to finger looping, to working with a small loom, all with good pictures of the work in progress and examples of the finished work. Many different patterns and variations are pictured as well. This book is great for beginners as well as for those people who are looking for something different to do. Each braid is very clearly illustrated, and includes several variations (all shown in photos) for each braid based on strand thickness or type of cord. Exact instructions for each variation is also provided--I have never seen a book so detailed. For someone like me who gets frustrated seeing something I like in the gallery or variations section of a book but then can't reproduce it, this is a great idea.I was also pleased that the title "200 Braids" was true. Usually when books say they include X number of something, what is often included are a number of pretty close variations and quite a few uninspired items just to fill the quota given in the title.
