It's lasted 10 years so far. I also keep one in my truck and I used to keep the 10 packs of those Cricket or Scripto type lighters in my truck cause it's much easier to pop in one of those than refilling the one that came with it. Trouble is, I would have to buy a whole new complete Torch unit every 4-6 months because the nozzles would get clogged and I couldn't clean them out so I would have to throw them away. After the 3rd New Torch for the truck, I realized it is the cheap chinese butane that comes in these replacement lighters that's clogging the tips. Now I only refill the one in the truck and after 3yrs+ it hasn't clogged. **Q: Can I order it without lighter . It gasses into the body of the torch and can burst into flames as a result. Striking it is FAR too difficult and totally unreliable.
