I have done a lot of research before the birth of our baby, and at that time, these weren’t out yet. In the beginning, we bought a few of the Thirsties Duo Wrap and the inserts as well as bumGenius Elemental AIOs to try. We quickly discovered we prefer the AIOs because our baby is very active during diaper changes. The bumGenius Elementals works well, but they are bulky and you have to “prep” them before putting it on (you have to fold down the extra fabric first).So onto more research and discovered both Thirsties One Size AIOs and bumGenius Freetime One Size AIOs. We have tried them both (the snap versions only) and honestly, they both work well for our baby. Here are the differences:--- Design. Thirsties has one flap; bumGenius has two flaps (which you can fold to customize to your baby). This doesn’t seem to make a difference for our baby. We just find ourselves grabbing the Thirsties more often because there’s one thing flapping around instead of two.--- Absorbency. We haven’t had any leakage yet from either of these. You can add inserts underneath for both diapers.--- Fitting. I find that the Thirsties is trimmer than the bumGenius. We were able to start cloth diapering when our baby is 9 pounds. At the smallest setting, the bumGenius looks massive. I do find that the waist elastics on the bumGenius stretch better and seem to be a better quality than the Thirsties, but not enough to win us over completely.--- Drying Time. Both inserts are semi-attached so dry time is fairly quick. We have one of those hinge-it behind the door towel bars in the bathroom. It happens to be next to our vent, so it only takes about a day to air dry. I plan to dry them in the sun during the summer time.--- Colors. This is the main reason I personally like the Thirsties better. They recently came out with the Ocean colors, and they are super cute. I also like that their solid colors are softer than the bumGenius.I hope this review will help someone out there who is considering cloth diapers. I know I read a lot of reviews here when I was considering cloth diapers. Once you have a system setup, it’s as easy as the disposable ones. For reference, we own 12 of these and 6 of the bumGenius Elementals (which we got from our baby registry), two Planet Wise Wet Diaper Bag in Medium for going out, and two Planet Wise Reusable Diaper Pail Liner. Get some cloth diaper friendly laundry soap and a pail, and that’s all you need to start cloth diapering.Update on 6/19/15 ~ We have been using these daily for a good 5 months now. We are still loving these, even more than the bumGenius Elemental. At night time with the bumGenius Elemental starting at around 5-month-old, she always had leakage (I mean, obvious soaked round stain on the sheet). With the Thirsties AIO, even though there was leakage, it was only a "line" on the sheet. Leakage was fixed easily with a added hemp insert, but it is so much easier adding the insert to the Thirsties than the bumGenius. Our Thirsties still look like new while the bumGenius ones had obvious stains. We love these so much, we bought 6 more to our collection and will be using them exclusively. For reference, our baby girl is now 6.5 months with her height and weight around 70 percentile (27 inches and 17 pounds).Update on 9/9/15 ~ While we are still loving our Thirsties AIOs for the daytime, I want to say that that they no longer work for overnight (8pm to 8am). We have tried many different combinations to avoid leakage, but no luck. We got tired of constantly washing our sheets, so one night we put her in a disposable. The next morning, it was full and filled! We concluded that she just likes to pee at night and will stick to the disposable for overnight. On another note, I love the "flap" that the Thirsties has. We have been using the Bumkins Flushable Diaper Liners  Bumkins Flushable Diaper Liner, Neutral, 100 Count, (Pack of 1)  for her poo. You can wrap a diaper liner around the flap, so that the liner can actually stay in place. At first, I was just laying the liner on, but it would disintegrate into a mess. By tucking the two long edges of the liner underneath the flap to hold it in place, it can catch most of the poo for you to toss. For reference, our baby is now 9 months with her height and weight around 55 percentile (28 inches and 18.5 pounds).Update on 2/4/2016 ~ These diapers are still a workhorse. There are minor staining, but I never expected them to stay like-new with so much usage. My 14-month-old is fully eating adult foods and loves drinking her milk/water from her sippy cup. She goes through about 3 to 4 diapers during the day; we haven't needed to add extra inserts for her yet. For reference, our daughter is now 14 months with her height and weight around 50 percentile (31 inches and 22 pounds).Update on 7/5/2016 ~ What can I say, these diapers are still doing their jobs. Some staining are there, but the seams are all intact with no visible signs of damage. No leakage yet whatsoever (we use disposables for overnight). My daughter probably average 40 oz of liquids in a day (3 cups of milk + 1 cup of water + liquid in her meals). She goes through 5 to 6 diapers in a 14-hour period. I have to say we love using cloth diapers for potty-training, because you are not wasting a diaper for trying to get them to pee every time. For reference, our daughter is 19 months with her height and weight around 60 percentile (32 inches and 25 pounds). We do a warm rinse, hot with Country Save powder, then another warm rinse to make sure to get everything out.Update on 12/12/2016 ~ Wow, can't believe it has been two full years already. Our daughter just turned 2 with the ability to hold her pee, though she still doesn't like sitting on the toilet. She drinks about 4 cups of milk + ~2 to 3 cups of water, plus she can down half a pound of green beans (her favorite) + 1/4 cup of rice + some sort of protein during meals. Poos every morning, maybe an extra poo during the day. Since she was 22 months, the diapers were leaking every time. We finally figured out that her pee was too much, so we ordered some insert (also the Thirsties brand), which took care of the leakage. However, we noticed that even with the hemp insert, we need to change her every 3 hours tops. So when we go out now, we do a size 5 disposable. There are minor staining on the diapers, but all seams are still intact. We do a warm rinse, hot with Country Save powder, then another warm rinse to make sure to get everything out. For reference, our daughter is 2 years old with her height and weight around 65 percentile (35 inches and 27 pounds). ### ⭐⭐⭐ Mixed feelings *by R***L on Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2017* I have a love/hate relationship with these diapers. On one hand, they are very attractive. Great patterns, clean looking design. They are pretty soft and absorbant.However, of our many brands of AIO, they are the most prone to user error. If you put these on wrong, they leak like crazy. And the correct fit isn't super intuitive. This is annoying to us because we chose to go with AIO to make things easier for our many alternate caregivers for baby. At this point, daddy and I have figured out how to fasten these so they don't leak at all (lower rise than you'd guess, tight enough they don't gap under the belly but not so tight they roll around the waist, leg gussets pushed into the leg crease) but we don't send these to grandma's house. Without double gussets or a tummy panel, I'll be watching closely to see how they do as baby becomes mobile.Also, I'm just over high-end cloth diaper companies requiring ridiculous washing routines to keep from voiding your warranty. Like, I don't really have time to wash my diapers with incantations and blowing on them. The day one of these companies recommends a wash routine that even vaguely resembles a reasonable modern method of cleaning things, I will buy all their diapers. Lol. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great all-in-one cloth diaper, good gender-neutral print *by M***M on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2018* Thirsties All In Ones are probably my favorite of the cloth diapers that we have bought. The patterns are fun and the fit is quite good (she has used these from 6 months to present). We used the Thirsties Newborn Size from 0-6 mo (she has a small bum). They have held up in the wash very well over the last 6-7 months and they washed every 36 hours at 40 C and tumble dried. I use Tide Unscented which works well. I also use Charlie's Soap Hardwater Booster every few weeks for a few washes because the water is quite hard here. It's important not to use any fragranced detergent and not to use any fabric softeners or drier sheets as these can prevent the diapers from absorbing pee as well and can irritate baby's skin. The snaps closure are good because they don't catch on other diapers or cloth wipes in the washing machine or drier. The snaps are good quality and have done well despite frequent washing/drying. The microfleece on the inside pills a bit after the first few washes but otherwise as remained soft. The reason I like Thirsties the best is the diaper is one piece (no stuffing the liner in the back of the pocket, seems trivial but when you have to do this for lots of diapers every 36 hours for 1-2 years, I think about trying to hide the pocket all-in-ones toward the back of the diaper drawer). The diapers are not as bulky as some but it still helps to have cut-for-cloth-diaper clothing to make sure the bum is big enough (e.g. Frugi).The primary reasons we use cloth diapers are (1) for her well-being (the goal is to change the diaper as soon as she pees or poos so she doesn't sit in her own pee or poo or moist/humid environment as in a disposable diaper << breeding ground for microbes that cause skin irritation and diaper rash) and (2) to protect the environment (we can change diapers frequently without filling up the landfill). I see a lot of reviews where people seem to rate the diaper by whether it leaks or how long it can be on. Since our goal is to not have the baby's skin stay in contact with pee, poo or the residual moistness, these are not the deciding factors for us. These diapers can absorb a big pee easily but do not tend to leak unless absorbing multiple pees (for example at day care where she might be so excited or distracted that she doesn't complain as quickly about the wet diaper).
