Review: I used this to clear the water tank on a WaterRower rowing machine. I misread the instructions for the machine (did not add the requisite water purification tablet in a timely fashion). Algae had grown in the tank but after adding 1/4 cup of the APE PondCare the algae disappeared in a few days. I did change the water before treatment. Now I add the recommended water purification tablets and the water is crystal clear once more. This stuff works.
Review: Quite impressed with it to be honest. Done an amazing job on my water rowing machine. It is now algae free!

**Q: I have a small outdoor fountain that I would like to keep algae free, products need to be dog & cat safe. any ideas?**
A: I can only say that this is non-toxic to fish and frogs.  I don't know whether, if a dog or cat were to drink water that had this algae control in it, it would make the dog or cat sick or not.  I would suggest you call the producer of the product.  I use it all the time in my pond, and on one occasion I did call the company that produces it.  Surely, they could tell you if it's safe to use around dogs and cats.

**Q: Is it safe for bees, when used in an outdoor fountain?!**
A: I really don’t know. I notice that bees take water from a chlorinated pools and muddy puddles. Didn’t hurt my fish.

**Q: Can I use this in my fish tank**
A: you could, but I wouldn't unless your tank is at least 150 gallons. Controlling the proper mix would be touchy in smaller amounts. There are better products for aquarium use to accomplish the same thing.

**Q: Can i use this in my 40 gallon tank? It does have the little moss balls**
A: Yes, but reduce the dose to treat 40 gallons

This is not an algae killer but a special bacteria that feed on the type of algae that float in the water making water look green and opaque. I tried it in my 16,500 gallon pond for the last month, and as long as you keep adding it, the pea soup stays away. It has no effect on the algae like string algae or the stuff that sticks to the liner of the pond. Used with koi, goldfish and tadpoles and there is no problem. Don't forget to turn off your UV or it will kill the bacteria and prevent it from working.
