Review: Sorting out the wireless black spots in thick cottage walls - Trying to get a decent, consistent Wi-Fi signal through the internal stone walls of a 1750s cottage is usually a recipe for absolute frustration. Having previously relied on powerline adapters to try and bridge the gaps, the drop-offs and inconsistent speeds were a constant headache when trying to work from home or stream in the evening. Switching to this three-pack mesh setup has completely changed the layout of my home network. Because my broadband supplier won't let me replace their standard hub entirely, I simply ran a short network cable from the back of the original provider router straight into the first unit, and the whole system was up and running in minutes. **Q: I have a queen anne brick house 6000+ sqft can these be daisy chained perhaps six as opposed to three for fuller coverage? or is there something else.**
A: My butler tells me the coverage in all four wings of the house is impeccable. I rarely get to see the children, but the governess says they never complain of buffering or drop-outs. I suppose the signals travel well over the Italianate marble in main hall, the signal drops in the well-stocked wine cellar, but only to be expected.

**Q: Can i hard wire all the devices in if i have cables around my home**
A: You can connect all the units to each other over a hard wired connection referred to as Ethernet backhaul in both router & AP mode. In my system I have two units hard wired and one using the default WiFi backhaul.

**Q: Can i still use port forwarding to access specific pcs on my network remotely (eg remote desktop) or should that continue to be done via my router?**
A: I don't know whether anyone else has answered this but from what I've seen (and certainly how I use it) I wouldn't use port forwarding from the Deco. I have seen that you can use the Deco as it's own router which I'd guess would have port forwarding on it but then it would have to go through your own router as well (might make complications). I've got my Deco's set simply as an access point leaving all forwarding via the router. Simpler and I'm then just dealing with one network. (Please note that the default Deco position is one of a separate router but it's an easy change using the iOS app).

I have Vodafone full-fibre 500 Mbps broadband and was frustrated by the Wi-Fi speed drop as you move further away from the router in a fairly large house (310 m2) For clarity, the fist Deco unit replaces your ISP provided router, you can remove that. Contact your ISP first to ask what set up information you will need if you are installing your own router, Vodafone were able to give me this via a web chat on a Sunday evening. When you have the information you need, the mesh is easy to install via the Deco App. I have Deco X50 with three units and was expecting the full 500 Mbps around the house, this is not the case, there is still a speed drop although much better than before. You can connect your TV to a Deco via an ethernet cable to enable a wired connection rather than Wi-Fi (order extra leads if necessary) I hope this will give a more stable streaming performance and less buffering.
