I use it on my John Deere x758 lawn tractor so I know when I am traversing a slope that is too steep and a rollover risk. It was easy to install with the provided 3M tape. There is an option to mount it to the vehicle dashboard with screws although this requires drilling 2 small holes in the inclinometer at marked locations. Review: Easy to use - Easy to view and use, but contains no adhesive to stick it to something, so buy double-sided tape to mount it to something. Most people mount it to a flat place on their dash using the back of the unit, but don't have a convient place on my dashboard in my Land Rover to do that, so I put clear "gelly style" double-sided tape on the top of the unit and mounted it to the bottom of my rearview mirror. Used it in my Rover for off-roading so I could know when I was getting close to the danger zone for tipping over. Is this normal?** A: You are mixing up two entirely different types of slope measurement units. Slope expressed in percentage like your first number represent the rise over run times 100 for percent slope. The second number you expressed as degrees which is what this product displays. 100 percent slope is 45 degrees for example. **Q: Is there a way to mount it temporarly? If my wife knew I was using it she would worry?** A: Don't mount it on your wife! Ha - just kidding! The Lev-o- gage uses peel-off double-sided tape which will hold it for a long time. My present one is on the dashboard of my old Land Rover, and has been for about three years. The FIRST one was on the cabin bulkhead of a 22-foot sailboat I owned, and never moved at all for years. You might try using some double-side tape of your own that you can apply OVER the tape backing already on the gauge. That way you could control how sticky it is and test it on your surface. Or maybe get some of those "markless" wall pads used to hang pictures without marking the wall, and comes off when you want. I'd had trouble with my inclinometer sticking in random spots, due to a possible glitch in the particular batch, in production, there is also a possibility too though that my desert (hot) environment could be a contributor to the demise of the unit. EDIT/UPDATE Oct 1 '25 Sun Company made this item right for me, so I have added back three stars. For some reason the bearing/indicator as written about below, wound up sticking randomly, so it would not give readings as it tilted to different or new angles. ---------------- Original review; This inclinometer worked well for the first few weeks, but annoyed me that quality control allowed this to pass with a discoloration spot about 3/16'' , 3 or 3 mm at about 20 degrees on one side. The unit has not been damaged in any way , but now sticks and needs to be tapped hard with a hard object to move, only to stick again a few minutes later, so it will read zero if that is the last place it stayed for a minute, no matter what the actual angle.
