Since I don't own a horse, I do not have the advantage of leaving my gear in the barn's tack room. As a result, I have to bring my saddle and everything else with me for each lesson. I'm not complaining, it's just how it is when you don't own a horse (at least in my experience). Often, I found myself dropping everything, trying to juggle my saddle with my helmet, pads, girth, etc. while getting out the front door. Somehow, I've managed to slap myself in the face with my crop a few times when trying to juggle everything - no idea how I managed that. So to my delight, this backpack has solved many of these issues (there's even an exterior crop holder).The backpack is well made and it's obvious much thought was placed into its design. Several pockets inside and outside of the pack give you several options to organize smaller items like your phone, gloves, horse treats, etc. The helmet pocket is great and appreciate that you can adjust the pocket to fit your helmet + it's vented...great for people like me who sweat like crazy when riding. The back has 2 roomy internal compartments, which fit quite a bit of your larger horsey items. I have loaded my half chaps, paddock boots along with a couple of girths with room to spare. It's even possible to fit smaller saddle pads into the bag, depending on what else you load into it.In fact, I'm able to load in a baby pad along with my other stuff. However, I have an 18 inch dressage saddle with extra long flaps (I call her "Big Bertha."), so unfortuately I'm not able to squeeze Bertha sized square dressage pads into the bag. My Lamicell half pad sticks out the top of the bag by about 4 inches, but I can still zip both sides up enough so that the bag stays closed. Thicker schooling pads are either going to be a tight fit or not work at all.Overall it's a well made backpack, which has truly helped me get organized for the barn, and has made a huge improvement for hauling gear back and forth. I gave this 4 stars because I wish it was a tad taller for my half pad. I'll probably use this when going on shorter trips as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great bag, durable and reasonable cost all things considered. *by K***. on Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2016* My daughter uses this bag at least three times a week carting all her horsey stuff from the two barns she rides at- so far it has held up quite nicely. It has been durable and has lots of pockets / spaces for the necessary items. It's even big enough to fit a sweat scraper inside. A special spot for the helmet is fantastic idea and works well. Crop tucks in nicely on the side with the side pockets big enough to hold a fairly good sized water bottles. Also on the front is a nice smaller zipper which is a great place to stow spurs / gloves for quick access as well as some peppermint treats for the horses!! Would definitely purchase again if in need of another in the future. We get compliments all the time asking where we got the item. Although I don't mind the color, it would be nice if it were available in more colors. .It's reasonably priced considering it's durability. It's not a deal if you have to replace it every few months! They are so handy and my daughters love them. The are quite large so they fit a lot of clothes and equipment...even their boots fit! There are many different compartment large and small. Their helmets fit in well. We have only had them for a couple months, but so far they have held up really well as my girls have thrown them in and out of the car and toted them to and from the stable.
