And top makes a very satisfying pop sound. Enough gushing over the cute box it comes in. The ability to make fine tuning with the adjustments really makes a difference and very worth trying each until you find what works for you best. I use a Yamaha MG10XU and it provides the 48v Phantom power to activate this preamp. The phantom power does not go past the preamp. I use a SHURE SM7B and while the YAMAHA works fine by itself and for me atheist I found I don't need to turn up the gain as much as most show. I am set up in a very small confined space so most audio settings I use are nothing like the pros suggest. So I won't be suggesting gain settings or impedance suggestions. The build quality is excellent. The ease of use is excellent. The audio quality is excellent. (Make adjustments to find the best for your mic) Reminder this is not for condenser mics. I am by no means of sound engineer. but this has been great.
