Are these boxes water tight?** A: Yes, it is a foam gasket. but "foam" did not answer the question. I don't know of any IP rating for these, but I have sprayed more than several with a garden hose to clean the exteriors off (grimy dust and grit), and not one drop got into any of the boxes. I was spraying just to clean, not to test to what degree they would stand up to, but I used both jet and spray (garden) settings with some dish soap. I can also add that these do not offer any UV protection, so if left outdoors, absolutely need to be covered and protected from the sun. Also, they are not as supple as they could be-that are just a bit on the brittle side, subject to cracking if dropped.
