Review: Pushes 5120x1440 at 240hz and allows for two computers, all I asked and more! - Honestly quite impressed with this little device given the price. Everything functioned as it should (with proper cabling) and considering the fringe use case I was looking to solve for (Desktop gaming PC which can push 5120x1440 on a Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor at 240hz over DP) and a work and personal MacBook laptop I swap back and forth between for work and home use through a dock this did the trick. Switching speed is good, and after some messing with the MacBook dock I was able to get it to hold resolution at full size 5120x1440 on swap. The only issue I have (which is apparently an issue with Macs themselves, not the KVM) is that I often have to open the MacBook to get it to properly render to the monitor out of it's sleep mode while the lid is closed. This makes swapping from my work computer to my personal to answer an email or perform a task a bit more of a pain if I don't switch back fast enough. After some deep digging apparently I need an EDID passthrough dongle out of the dock to prevent the computer from entering the soft sleep mode. It would be great if this did this, because this part (while it exists) for DQHD of 5120x1440 is nearly impossible to find. Drawbacks would be if you have multiple monitors to swap between as this will only do one, but a second would theoretically allow you to do two if your setup required it. Compared to other devices in this bandwidth/space the price is really reasonable. Remote works well with the KVM itself mounted under my desk, no issues with it not receiving signal. Downgrading from a three monitor setup to one 49" ultra ultrawide this saved the day. You'll (obviously) need DP capabilities on both sides, and you may run into some weird quirks with certain Mac models and emulated DP versus true/thunderbolt DP, but overall this is a great pickup. The included cables are fine, but I did replace them with longer braided DP 1.4 cables to allow for a sit/stand desk. The USB cables are plenty long compared to many USB switches or KVM included, but do note if you're planning on swapping these they are USB-B micro ports into the KVM itself, so you'll need a USB 3.0 male to USB-B micro cable to adjust that. I've had no issue with the USB functionality though so no plans to switch there. I did originally run into a minor video signal issue because apparently one of the longer DP cables I had was labeled 1.4 but was actually 1.2, so you'll need 1.4 if you're running a very large monitor. Once that swap was made no issues on my end. PC gets 5120x1440 at 240hz, no issues with gaming or signal drops. Mac(s) get 5120x1440 at 120hz (allegedly, though I'm pretty sure the dock is putting out 60hz but that's not on the KVM) with no video or signal drops. Front three USB have worked well. The KVM I switched from had four so that was a minor adjustment. Signal works well through my desk for wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse on both devices. Webcam is the third slot I'm using which has been fine for work calls and Discord use on the PC. Overall it's very easy to use, easy to setup, very compact, doesn't generate a lot of heat, and I'm happy with the purchase. Has been compatible with both Mac and PC without issues aside from some Mac soft-sleep state quirks (but the KVM is operating as it should after an open/close, and USB functionality is working before the monitor gets signal, so everything is good there). I swapped the DP cables for personal needs. The included Velcro pads also failed pretty quickly even after giving them time to "set" - they would probably work fine if it was top of desk but I mounted under since cables come out of both sides due to how compact this is. Swapped that with a heavy snap Command strip and good to go there. Comparative to other items that push these specs the price is fantastic, and I'm very happy with the overall quality and build, plus the performance. This has been one of the few things I've considered reasonably priced for a 49" DQHD swapping setup, and it solved my issue of not using the on monitor under panel input swap which got annoying within a week, even hot keyed. Anything less demanding on resolution/refresh rate or multiple operating systems should work flawlessly. One of the better overall KVMs I've used in general, and I wasn't expecting that given the reviews.
Review: Great product for the price, with some quirks - This genuinely is a game-changer for someone like me who has a work-issued computer and a gaming PC, and switches between them over the course of a day. If you don’t mind going into your monitor’s menu to switch video inputs every time, a basic USB 3.0 KVM switch will do fine to manage peripherals (mouse, keyboard, webcam, speakers etc.). This is the setup I used for a while, but eventually I got lazy and decided I wanted a one-button solution to instantly switch between systems. This product accomplishes that while punching way above its price point, especially if purchased on sale. The pros: - Excellent value. I purchased mine around $90 USD. This is a lot of money, yes, but similar KVM switches cost 2-3x with questionable results. - FULL Displayport 1.4 support. While a lot of desertcart products may claim this, they often don’t come with full picture and feature support, especially in ‘hub’ type products. In my use case this is significant since my monitor outputs 5120x1440 at 240hz, which ONLY works over Displayport. I can confirm that 5120x1440 at 120hz and 8-bit color works flawlessly, which is the maximum supported by my monitor without DSC. G-sync also works great as well at these output settings. While I can’t personally confirm it, according to the Cable Matters website, this switch fully supports display stream compression (DSC). That means that, in theory, it is able to pass though up to 5120x1440 at 240hz and 10-bit color on two systems. My graphics card doesn’t support DSC so I have no way of knowing for sure, but it is definitely an impressive feature to have. The cons: - Bad included cables. The Cable Matters brand does make quality Displayport cables, and three are included (hence the value), but one of the three I received caused flickering and random black screens. At first I thought I received a bad unit, but I plugged in my replacement with the same cables and still had the same problems. I went ahead and purchased a new cable sold by Cable Matters (FYI, Cable Matters offers free replacements via their website) and all of the issues went away when I hooked it up. Displayport cables seem to be prone to these types of issues, generally due to poor shielding or connections. The included cables are solid but can still suffer problems. If you have picture issues like I did, I would recommend swapping out the included cables for comparable or higher quality options. - The remote: Didn’t work out of the box. I popped in a replacement battery and it works fine. You may need to replace the battery on your remote. Overall, I was willing to put up with the minor issues because there isn’t really a comparable product on the market. I have been using mine for six months and it still works great. I will provide any updates if that changes.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, just be sure to use short DisplayPort cables
*by A***Y on January 2, 2026*

I have this paired with an LG 27GN950, and with the exception of some flicker I get in macOS (older Intel based Macs only), this thing actually works pretty well. The remote is a nice touch too. Be sure to use short DisplayPort cables, as signal degradation can become a problem.
