Review: Great accessory when your Surface Pro Signature Keyboard with Slim Pen dies - I have a Signature keyboard for my Surface Pro 9. After a few years, it failed (too many open-close cycles?). I have another accessory keyboard with Bluetooth connectivity. I works as well as the Signature keyboard, but does not charge the Slim pen. I do not use the pen that much, but I needed something to charge it, lacking the Signature keyboard. This charger works great. I have the pen when I want it, but I can also use the Bluetooth keyboard. Since there is no circuitry in the hinge with this keyboard, like there is with the Signature, I do not expect to have any issues with this keyboard, and the charger allows me to keep using the pen.

for it to initially start working you'll need to put it to charge using the original charger or in one of the keyboards that can charge this.
