Seems to be an exact replacement.
I bought this as a replacement for the original Liebherr filter. It looks like an EXACT replacement! The original was "product of China" and so is this replacement. The details tell me that this is not the same mold, but I can't tell if it's the same company or factory.I installed it about 2 weeks ago. No problems so far.

Great for the Value
These are nearly half the price of the Leibherr filters and seem to be working just as efficiently. Have the first filter in for a couple months now and we haven't noticed any difference in our refrigerated water which for us is ice cubes. So a great value for the price in a product that works very well.

Don’t know if it’s as effective as name brand but given it’s a low tech product it should be ok. No leaks no issues -

May affect the water pressure feeding the ice maker
I bought this filter as an alternative to the pricey Liebherr filter, but my ice maker stopped working properly shortly after I installed it. I heard a clicking noise from what I assume was the water pipe feeding the ice maker, via the filter and the ice making button on the control panel started flashing. I had a technician (independent and not affiliated with Liebherr) look at it and he advised spending the $$s on the Liebherr filter. That said, he also advised that if you live somewhere that the drinking water is of acceptable quality (i.e. you drink it straight from the tap) - and I do - then save yourself those $$s and don't bother with a filter. If the water is good enough to drink straight from the tap, it's fine for making ice!
