Review: Great hatch success 🙌 - I used spring water (walmart brand). Left a light over top, one of those clamp on lights and the next day I have what looks like 40 babies everywhere! Maybe I should have only used half the vial lol. I expect some to not make it and some to be eaten so will end up with enough for our 5 gallon aquarium Set up with a sponge filter for low flow for when they are big enough to move over to the aquarium
Review: They hatched, and are alive! As of now. - They hatched! Anyone who knows a bit about these knows even if u follow the directions completely they don't always hatch. The last 2 orders none hatched (I did everything the directions said, exactly). I thought if they don't hatch I will clean the water, and add some guppies or send a envelope with 1$ for replacement eggs. These things are neat, and fun to watch grow. I washed, a 5gal fish tank, rinsed with regular water, and then rinsed it with distilled water (brand with no chemicals in it), did the same with a fish tank heater. Filled the tank with what distilled, and spring water I had left. Boiled tap water let it cool, and added that to the tank. I added natural shells, rocks, and bamboo rinsed the same way. Tank sat heating for about 3 days before the Triops arrived, and I added them. Heater set on 85F. I also used boiled cooled water to rinse 1 aquatic plant seed, and moss balls. Those are in the same tank. 24 hours later hatched eggs, and though very tiny we can see a few swimming around! I added the natural items to the tank as a bit of a experiment to see if the Triops survive long enough will they lay eggs, and will those hatch. If they do survive I am a bit worried they might eat the moss balls, lol. It is very important to use the right water. I was not sure that boiling the water, and letting it cool would still create habitat that they would hatch in. Will up date, and try to add a pic if they grow larger. Update: Day 3/4 still alive. Update: After a few days the bigger ones are the smaller ones despite being fed, and then a few days after that I had someone else feed them, they over fed them, and they are all dead now.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what species of triops are they?**
A: These are Triops Longicaudatus

**Q: If I was to raise these to be larger, could I add them to my freshwater fish tank?**
A: As long as the other fish aren't too small or too aggressive. Most normal-sized fish in tanks aren't big enough to eat a large triops, but triops will eat other small fish. My second pack of triops said that they will eat smaller triops. And by small fish, I mean like neon tetra size. Adult triops can get a couple inches-- as long as the other fish in your tank are around one inch or more, you should be fine. Also, never add crawfish to any tank. I had a friend that had a crawfish, it ate both of his angel fish and escaped the tank.

**Q: Does anyone know the contact information for ordering replacement eggs?**
A: These ARE the replacement/refill eggs.

**Q: Can I add them in my marine tank as food**
A: These are not brine shrimp, they grow up to 2 inches long.

### ⭐ Required lots of additional supplies, and didn't hatch
*by E***. on February 1, 2015*

First of all, these require a lot of additional supplies. I spent close to $30 on a tank, water, heat source, etc. After reading other reviews, and researching triops care elsewhere, I did use distilled water, as this appears to be the more common recommendation (the included limestone provides the minerals the triops need, and using distilled rather than spring water avoids other minerals that may inhibit their growth), but otherwise followed the directions meticulously. The temperature has stayed in the low 80s, and I have a full-spectrum lamp directly above the tank. After nearly a week, nothing has hatched. I may give them a few more days, but I doubt anything is going to hatch. I may try a different triops kit, or, since I now have most of the components for a small fish tank (I just need an oxygen source, filter, and fish food), I might just get some fish instead (probably a Betta fish, or maybe a couple goldfish or something -- I have had fish before, and I do understand what I'd be getting myself into, but it's not really a huge amount of work -- I've had all sorts of pets over the years, and aside from Sea Monkeys, fish are some of the easiest).
