It is also a bit quieter than most hair dryers. This Velecta does a great job, and I am glad I bought it. It's the best hair dryer I have ever used. ### ⭐⭐ Not as good as 4000i *by G***I on April 15, 2021* It was way less powerful than the 4000i from same company, wasn’t happy with the power ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think I like it (updated) *by S***E on July 9, 2018* I decided to try this to replace an old Rusk Speedfreak. It takes a few minutes for the air temperature to get really hot. It starts warm and then ramps up. However, by the time the air becomes hot (but not burning hot), my hair is already more than half dry (I have a lot of thick hair that goes down almost to my waist). It may take a minute or two longer to dry my hair than the Rusk, but I believe it does so more gently. My hair doesn't blow around and get overly tangled when free drying (I have no patience) and my hair is noticeably less poofed and frizzed at the ends. I have to get used to the shape and the balance of the hairdryer but I do find it easier to move it around my head with the smaller shape. 11/3/19 - It's been over a year now and in the last few months found that my hair from root to end now seems burnt and frizzed after using the hair dryer. The ends are extremely damaged as well. Even after a trim. I always had the ion function on and the heat level was never above medium. I also let my hair air dry a bit before using the dryer so I don't have to blow dry for a long time nor do I direct the dryer to one area for extended periods of time (I don't use it for styling, just general drying).
