The French Press Express Timer features brushed stainless steel knob, 3 time settings, a magnetic base w/ rubber coasted ABS plastic for durability and moisture retention. Coffee Press Tips Warm the coffee press first by rinsing with hot water as you prepare your coffee beans. Use a carafe if you will not be consuming your coffee immediately. If you allow it to sit on the grounds too long it continues to extract, and becomes bitter. A good rule of thumb to warm water to 195º is to bring water to a boil, and remove it from the heat 1 minute prior to pouring over coffee grounds. Have fun! Perhaps your water to coffee ratio is off, or you might use 194º water. That’s the beautiful thing about making your own coffee, you control the taste! So find your special time for each roast you like, and start pressing!
