But connect battery first so it knows it's charging 12 volts not 24 volts . They do work ok at lower power, else they overheat and catch fire, I use them in a 12v system and never use the advertised 100A unit at more than 350w which at 18v operating is about 20A. I have actually removed the back panel and fitted a 0.03 degree / Watt heatsink. having done that and fitted a thermal fuse I now feel that I can turn my back on them. I'm sorry to sound negative but I have had several fires trying to use them, as advertised, used at lower power with precautions they do work quite well. **Q: Can I charge 2 batteries** A: If you have the 24v version you will need 2 batteries(12v) one with + on positive and one with - on negative with link cable between two batteries( + one battery to -on other.
