It's normal from the start but as the load kicks in, it sounds like a maniac! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Buena, pero ruidosa. *by S***O on 3 September 2025* Es una buena fuente, pero bastante ruidosa. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unbearably loud - had to rewire fan with potentiometer *by A***N on 28 February 2021* This is pretty much the only 500w flex psu you’re going to find, so I’m thankful for that. But the fan is unbearably loud with a really high pitch whine to boot. I knew this going into the SFF build I was doing, but it was truly unbearable. I ended up opening the psu and splicing an in-line potentiometer on one of the fan cables that is outside the case, so now I have a knob to manually turn the fan speed down. I looked at replacing the fan with a quieter one, but it’s a 15mm thick high rpm fan. The 20mm will not fit, and the 10mm leave a gap and don’t push enough air. The potentiometer solution works well, but it will likely void your warranty and is somewhat dangerous if you don’t know what your doing.
