It's shown that it can, and that's an important feature when getting a tablet. It's not a small screen like a phone, it's tiresome to hold up all the time. Has a pen slot but doesn't work if you have a case/cover on your SPen. Haven't tried with it off. The back of the case allows you to charge pen with a cut out slot. Doesn't interfere with the magnet, however side magnets to rest the Pen are covered by the case so it won't work. The design is beautiful and it has a hard clear backing. I had to order a different brand/case so I can have a stand. If you're willing to dimiss the stand not working it's a great case.
