But you can fit it exactly for any reveal within reason, by cutting into the stagger on the back side. Basically you can make the middle portion ( the reveal) longer or shorter by re-cutting it wih a handsaw. It is very easy to cut, made out of some sort of rigid plastic foam. **Q: How'd I do you mount it. Do you have too cute the vinyl** A: I mounted mine to my home using two wood screws, then sealing the outside perimeter with paintable caulking. In my case my house has lap siding that is longer than the back of the 8141DBL, so I had to use a Dremel tool to remove about 3/8" form the back to get it to fit. Was easy enough and looks good and light fixtures are easy to install. **Q: Can this be using if there is an existing in wall light box?** A: Certainly.
