Jayne is a horrible character
ONLY READ IF YOU DONT MIND SPOILERS. Jaynes cat accidently unleashes a creature that is causing problems all over. So when our favorite owners of the town we love call on her to get to the bottom of what is going on she has the nerve to feel like she is better than then. Instantly made me dislike her completely. I already disliked how she acts towards Cooper. She acts like its a bother to be around him but won't reject him. She talks about him to others and to herself like he is the most annoying bug in the world. But lord knows she cant just reject him romantically at all. The fact that she juggles both him and Greyson for 2 books is way to long. I feel it ended fine the first book with her saying she is interested in Greyson and wants to be friends with Cooper. Should have left it with that. Also not a good idea to make a new character insult the old characters who have literally done nothing to her but call on her about a problem she and her cat caused. She needs to humble herself alot and judging by comments in other books that doesn't happen at all.

Cozy supernatural reading
Jayne is now manager of a Christmas shop at Nocturne Falls and during an estate sale she buys a small box. When she gets home her cat knocks the box down and it releases some magic that results in weird happenings in the town, which must be stopped. In this story Jayne does not have exactly a mystery waiting to be solved, but it is still entertaining to read while she tries to bring everything back to normal. I have to say the cat is probably the most interesting turn of events, even if spider is so mellow it doesn't really feel like a cat. Another cozy reading, you know you won't have to think much about it and will be satisfied that no important character is going to drop dead unexpectedly.

Talking cat
So this book is good, it’s like the rest of the series so if you like those youll like this one but one thing stood out...SPIDER the cat can talk!!! It is the single cutest thing in any of the books I’ve read in a long time. Every time he says something it made me smile it was just adorable... I mean he doesn’t say much but when he says mama I’m hungry I just wanted to cry from the cuteness!! I want to call the author up on the phone and tell her how happy this cat made me!!!! “Spider tired mama” awwwwwww

A fun story about the Winter Princess
This is definitely a fun and charming story that kinda grows on you as you read more.Jayne Frost (Jack Frost daughter) buys several items at an estate sale. When she gets the items home her cat knocks one of the items off the counter setting a mischievous free. As she is the owner of the box, she is responsible for its recapture. In the process, she discovers that the imp was originally purchased for some very wrong purposes, and her life is put into danger as she wraps up this case.Another fun story from Kristen Painter, and I'm looking forward to more from her.

Sweet Sugary Surprises
I've come to expect great books from Kristen. This book is no different.I thoroughly enjoyed reading Miss Frost Ices the Imp. Like many of the Nocturne Falls books this can be read as a stand alone; however you may feel you're missing out if you haven't read Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case: A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost Book 1) first. All I will say is the amount of trouble that an imp can cause is only eclipsed by a winter elf's sweet tooth. I almost became diabetic with all the sugar that was found in this book.Want to know more? Read the book silly!!! You'll be glad you did!A definite must read, and one I'll definitely read again.

Mischief comes to town
3.5*After reading the House of Comarre and Cresent City series, Kristen Painer has become an automatic must read for me. When the Nocturn Falls series came out, I flew through the books like they were candy, and was so excited to see the spin off series about Jayne Frost. After picking up an antique box at an estate sale, and her cat knocking it over, things start to go haywire in town. Jayne realizes pretty quickly that she has released something from the box, and it's up to her to figure out how to find and capture the mystery creature. While Jayne is juggling two men, and meeting a lot of the people in town that are trying to help, the pranks around town are getting crazier. It's up to Jayne to figure out how to re-capture the creator and figure out why someone had brought it into town to start with.Miss Frost Ices The Imp is a fun read. I always enjoy reading about events in Nocturn Falls, and I'm looking forward to Jayne making some decisions about the men in her life.I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series and Nocturn Falls!

Sweet Spider
You totally have to read the book to get my title's meaning! Spider is one one of the best side characters I've ever read! I really enjoy this off shoot series still taking place in Nocturne Falls! I especially love reading these books after work! A great way to relax. Ms. Painter has developed a wonderful and seemingly possible world. Her characters a rich and continue to develop and grow with the books - so does her world of Nocturne Falls. The story lines are not obvious and I enjoy the discovery. Although romance is involved, it takes a normal place in the lives of the characters. The stories and expressions are unique to the characters so that the reader doesn't walk away feeling like s/he has read a retread book. I would recommend these works easily!!

A great series
If you are looking for a mystery series that is fun and lighthearted and fantastical and also involves supernaturals such as elves, vampires, werewolves, witches, and the like, then you have come to the right place. This is the second book in the series, and it was even more fun than the first one, which I also really enjoyed. In Nocturne Falls, the supernaturals live normal lives, and they get along together. It's quite refreshing. I highly recommend this series.

Another great visit to Nocturne Falls
I'm a huge fan of the Nocturne Falls series by Kristin Painter, and the Jayne Frost spin off series is a great way to keep the love alive as it allows us to keep visiting with all the residents of our favourite town as well as enjoy some frosty mysteries. In this story it's up to Jayne Frost, the Winter Princess, daughter of Jack Frost and niece of St Nicholas to lure and trap a cheeky little imp that's been causing chaos in Nocturne falls. Fuelled by Dr. Pepper and all the sugar you could want, Jayne calls on the help of friends old and new to track down the little pest and make sure his mischievous ways are brought under control. Not to mention take to task the person really responsible for bringing him to town.I love this story, reading it gives you a new adventure as well as a chance to catch up with town favourites like Delaney and Hugh Ellingham and irrepressible Birdie, aunt to town's Chief of Police. A good fun ride, with a few little twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Not to mention Jayne's dual romances with ex-boyfriend Cooper and charming vampire Greyson. Can't wait to start the next book.

The second installment in the Jayne Frost series.I have read all the available Nocturne Falls books so far and when I found out via the author that this spin off series was coming I just had to read it. I loved all the books in the Nocturne Falls series and I adored the first book in the Jayne Frost series too. Especially this book. It was incredibly well written and I loved how the characters have developed so far. It was very interesting plot and I loved how it unfolded. It was a great escape from reality that I can't recommend enough.

It was good, but the characterisation is a bit poor
It was good, but the characterisation is a bit poor. You are left in no doubt about who is good and who is bad, and all the good people are just a bit too nice.

A great re-read
Another quirky installment in the Jayne Frost series. I like these books, they're fun and keep your attention. Start with book one or better still start with the Nocturn Falls series so you know all the characters you meet in the books
