Review: Im definitely buying more - This little guy works perfectly. I use it on my front door for security. Was super easy to install. Didnt even have to full unscrew the deadbolt, just enough to be able to squeeze this guy behind it. Very strong and durable and the hinge is strong enough that when you have it open it stays open. I will definitely buy more when I move into a bigger place. Its not in the way at all or inconvenient. The weight is very light and the size matched perfect with my deadbolt.

When in the locked position, there is NO way to bypass the lock. The one problem occurs when not everyone is home and someone (by habit) flips it shut. For that reason, I'd recommend this for people who live alone in apartment buildings (where tradespeople (strangers) sometimes have to enter your unit), but not so much for bigger families.

**Q: can the hinge fall down while you are not home and cause you to be locked out?**
A: I had the same fear until I had the bolt in my hands. There is a tight spring to hold the bolt up in place. It will not fall down and lock you out.

**Q: does this product fit a schlage deadbolt?**
A: Yes it will fit the single cylinder Schlage deadbolt

**Q: Can a toddler unlock this?**
A: Yes. I’d say If your child can unlock a deadbolt, they’ll unlock this too. My 2yo figured it out in a couple days. Sadly it’s not the child proofing mechanism I was hoping it would be.

One of the maintenance lost their master keys at our complex and they won't replace everyone's locks. They swept the situation under the rug. This will work wonders during night time and you can sleep in peace knowing that even someone with a key cannot unlock the door. I would also suggest replace the default half inch screws to the plate and the dead lock with 4 inch exterior screws. And make sure that the plate side hits the king stud. That way if they were to kick the door, they dont have to just break the door casing, they have to fight with the screws into the studs as well. Another small guy was about to get through those red handled motel door travel locks. This works so much better Edit: works great. Easily able to remove during rental inspections and easily installable again. You would break the key before breaking this device.
