## Description

Class D High Power 5 Channel Amplifier - Kenwood Car Audio X802-5 Kenwood as a brand has great heritage in car power amplifiers, some of you may recall some of the award winning power amplifiers in the 1990's - 2000's . We remember products such as the PS series those amplifiers would give tremendous power output with excellent sound quality. These days amplifiers needs have change quite a lot and we now need less power, cleaner sound and more compact solutions. One thing you will notice about the Kenwood X802-5 is just how compact the amplifier really is. The amplifier is beautifully constructed, being class D it is light weight as the power amplifier is very efficient at creating power. So less heat is generated and you have a more compact size in return. All inputs and outputs are covered by end caps giving protection. Sound Quality wise you will find the amplifier very dynamic, clean and punchy. Mid-range is very direct and focus and the high's are nice and linear. With the dedicated 300w rms mono channel (4 ohm) you can drive a fairly large subwoofer, with surprise this amplifier runs very cool and gives an impressive and powerful bass. We tested it with the In Phase XT-12 and it had no problem delivering clean accurate power bass with a lot of control. This amp is also 2 ohm stable, allowing more power to be delivered to the sub(s). Overall this is a great amplifier if you want to add that little bit of extra power with great sound quality.

Review: Very good amp - Amazing sound quality, mindblowingly good balance. Only thing is that the gain is labelled input sensitivity, and if you are using 4 RCAs connect it to the 4 (Front and Rear) and leave the input switch on A|B- my only gripe. Well worth it!!!!

Kenwood Excelon X802-5 - X Series 5-channel car amplifier
Need more power for your entire system, Kenwood's Excelon X802-5 five-channel amplifier delivers 50 watts RMS to each of your front and rear speakers, while sending up to 500 watts RMS to a sub, yet it'll still fit almost anywhere in your vehicle. You can also use this amp in 3-channel mode to power a pair of high-performance speakers with 150 watts RMS each, and a sub with 500 watts.

**Q: Is it marine grade?**
A: This is not marine grade. If used for a marine application, the circuit boards will corrode and short in less than a year. You'll need to find an amplifier with a conformal coating. If you want a Kenwood, look at the KAC-M series. There is a new design coming soon.

**Q: What gauge wiring kit?**
A: Below is the kit I used for installing the amp in a Tesla Model S. Running it in three channel mode with Morel 3 ways and a single JL 10" 2 Ohm sub.

Love this! Works well. I really don't know much about the whole stereo systems, but have installed two of these. One in my car and one in my son's car. I don't know how to adjust it very well, but did what I could and it sounds good to me. I'm sure it could sound better with more knowledge on adjusting it. It has even worked decent in the high summer heats of Arizona without AC in the car although it gets very very hot.
