The first one took me about an hour to put together, and I am a little mechanically inclined. The second one about 35 minutes and the third one about a half hour. Once I figured some little tricks that made it easier... the chair was very well packaged, and the hardware was exact. No scratches, chips tears. The seat is very comfortable but probably not so much if you are a really large person. (A large derrier might be a tight squeeze, and I know this because I am a medium to large!) I like that if a tear did occur in the seat it looks as if it would not be a difficult project to 're-cover the seat. Also the seat is easy to clean, just wipe .
