However, it appeared that the sensor did not detect the presence of any of our hands when in proximity for dispensing soap. The few times that it did dispense soap it was several seconds after our hands were removed that soap was finally dispensed. Luckily I had a bottom with rubber feet from it's predecessor, so I solved my own problem. I've had many different manufactures of this same device in the past 10 years. So far none are perfect. Some have blinking lights you can't shut off, this one doesn't thank goodness. They last about a year before needing replacement. They are very handy for hands free dispensing but they don't work with clear glass items. I find I have to stick my finger over the sensor to get it to dispense.
