The material of the case appears as if it will hold up to rigorous use as it seems well made. The back of the case is a hard plastic and overall protection seems good. The inner lining of the front cover is soft and velvety and that rests on the tablet screen when closed. I don't usually drop my devices and I didn't buy this case with that factor in mind.. But I think this case will keep the device protected in case of a fall. The magnet used in the cover that bends into the dual purpose stand is very strong and holds nicely in place to keep the device stationary in whatever angle you place it. So far I'm fully satisfied.
